hi all,

Just a quick question about the new interchage rules for substitutions in AL1 reserves. Will there be a way of policing this to save from teams destroying the last 10/15 mins of tight games with endless substitutions at every oportunity to slow the game down? What will we as referees be expected to do? I'm just seeing coaches and managers getting very wound up (and I will be able to see their point!) when chasing a game.

Thanks

John

How a player gets an 18mth ban for 'man-handling' a referee reduced to 10 weeks just amazes me.

That is it for me. I was going to ref full-time this year but was persuaded into one more season of playing. I'm sorry but I will never ref full-time when if I get punched the player gets 10 weeks. I saw a similar incident in touch football and the player got 3 years. If he was charged with assault he would get at least a 1 year bond and a criminal record.

Again sorry, but this same club seems to always support players who are involved in extreme cases of violent conduct and it is one rule for this club and another for everyone else. Violence against a ref must have a maximum ban. If you can get 8-12 weeks for abusive language to a ref, 10 weeks is just pathetic.

I'll finish this season as a player/ref and that will be the end of it.

There was no real bias he was just bad. We found out and completed an incident report but we all suffered in the game.
The team we played against also new he was not a player/ref, they told us, and yet did nothing about it.
I think if the player/ref from the previous or proceeding game is not available and a player/ref from the team to play is available then that available player/ref must ref.
